Major Joe Duvall selected to be the Dallas Georgia Chief of Police!

Duvall

Major Joe Duvall is wrapping up his 31 year career with the Marietta Police Department. On January 9th, 2018, Dallas Georgia Mayor Boyd Austin, Jr and the Dallas City Council selected Joe Duvall to become their new Chief of Police.  Joe will take over as the Chief of the Dallas Georgia Police Department February 1, 2018.

Joe Duvall is the latest in a long line of Marietta Police Officers who have been selected as Chief of another Police Department.  We place an emphasis on education and training and are proud so many of our former staff have been selected to run other Police Departments.  We consider ourselves fortunate to be part of such a great city government that invests in it’s employees professional development.  The Marietta Police Department is nationally accredited (CALEA) as well as state certified (GACP) and continually strives for excellence in all that we do.

Here is a list of some of the other Chief’s selected from our ranks within the last (20) years (please let us know if we missed anyone!):
