MARIETTA - Sam Skelton and the GSO Jazz will team with the 80+ voices of the GSO Chorus for the first time, for a presentation of jazz favorites from yesteryear. The performance will take place at the Strand Theatre on the Marietta Square at 8 pm on February 3rd. This toe-tapping night of Jazz will feature such favorites as Blue Skies, My Funny Valentine, and Puttin’ on the Ritz.

The February 3rd performance will present the GSO Jazz combo band, which is known for playing jazz standards, swing, and contemporary compositions. Bandleader and saxophonist Sam Skelton has recorded with Elton John, Matchbox 20, Train, and The Ohio Players, among others.

Joining GSO Jazz for the first time will be the GSO Chorus, led by Bryan Black.  Comprised of accomplished vocalists from the greater metropolitan area, the GSO Chorus is the dedicated chorus of the Georgia Symphony Orchestra, performing choral/orchestral works, pops, and independent choral concerts. GSO Jazz and GSO Chorus are part of the Georgia Symphony Orchestra organization.

The Strand Theatre is located at 117 North Park Square on the Marietta Square. Tickets are $28 for adults and $10 for students.

To reserve tickets, call, (770) 429-2390 or visit www.georgiasymphony.org.
