COVID-19

On April 2, 2020, the City of Marietta was awarded a special allocation of Community Development Block Grant funds ($317,434) to be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19). This allocation was authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), Public Law 116-136, which was signed by President Trump on March 27, 2020, to respond to the growing effects of this historic public health crisis.

On June 10, 2020, the City of Marietta Mayor and City Council approved a substantial amendment to the PY2020 Annual Action Plan to incorporate the additional CDBG-CV funds. The full $317,434 has been allocated to Public Services projects that prepare, prevent or respond to COVID-19.

On September 11, 2020, the City of Marietta was awarded an additional special allocation of Community Development Block Grant funds (467,230) to be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus (COVID-19). On December 9, 2020, the City of Marietta Mayor and City Council approved a substantial amendment to the PY2020 Annual Action Plan to incorporate the additional CDBG-CV funds. $427,230 has been allocated to Public Services projects that prepare, prevent or respond to COVID-19 and $40,000 has been allocated to Public Facilities Improvements that prevent the spread of COVID-19.
