Transportation Improvement Program

Cobb County residents approved a referendum for a one-cent sales tax on March 15, 2011. Additional funding will be collected using a special purpose local option sales tax (SPLOST) (one percent) between January 2012 and December 2015. The money raised from the sales tax will be used to fund transportation improvement projects in the city of Marietta and Cobb County.

The 2005 SPLOST will expire December 2011. Many of the 2005 SPLOST funded projects are complete and there are also few upcoming projects remaining that are part of the 2005 SPLOST Transportation Improvement Program.
