MARIETTA - The Marietta Museum of History will be hosting its monthly Pop-In for Pop Culture with an exciting rockets and robots theme! This event will take place Tuesday, July 11th from 10:30am to 8pm and OSCAR The Robot will be making an appearance from 1 to 4pm. OSCAR is a sophisticated and entertaining robot who is well loved in Marietta due to his yearly visits to the North Georgia State Fair. This is a great opportunity to interact up close with OSCAR without the large crowds!
During the summer, we will be changing up our Pop-In routine by making this an all-day STEAM based event. STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) is an educational phenomenon with the goal to excite young people about various sciences. Coming from the idea of a STEM education, the “A” in STEAM brings art into play. Art allows the creator to explore innovative ways to make their technology more user-friendly, seamless, and appealing. Without the artistic process, our strides in technology would be much less progressive.
Admission to the Museum will be $5 per person for the day with a $20 maximum for families and FREE to Museum members. Memberships are available for purchase and start at $40.
The Museum uses ordinary objects to tell the extraordinary stories of Marietta and Cobb County and is the top-rated Museum and one of the Top Five things to do in Marietta on TripAdvisor. Galleries and exhibits cover topics such as military history, home life throughout the centuries, technology, and local businesses from our past. Current temporary exhibits include: Shoppin’ Southern Style: Fashions from the mid-20th century and More than Planes: Aviation in Cobb County.
