MARIETTA — On Friday, July 28th, 2017, the Marietta Museum of History continues its popular monthly program, the Remember When Club. The Club explores what life was like in Cobb County when Highway 41 was known as the 4 lane, everyday shopping was done on the Square and life was just a little bit simpler.
The Remember When Club discusses a different topic each month and encourages the audience to participate by sharing their memories as well. This month we’ll travel back in time and put on an old-fashioned Slide Show party! But instead of boring family vacation photos, we’ll bring out images from Cobb County’s past and remember fun places and events. Included in these will be photos from our recent Diverse Cobb photo and artifact drive. We’ll need audience help in identifying people from events like the Lion’s Club Hobby Fair at Lemon Street school. Museum guests are welcome to bring their own vintage photos to share as well!
And mark your calendars for August’s Remember When Club: Cobb’s Drive-In Theaters, on 8/25/17.
This event is held the 4th Friday of every month through October in the first Floor Virginia Tumlin Room at 10:30am. If you have a topic that you think would be good for the club or know of a person who could speak on our upcoming topic(s), please contact Museum staff at 770-794-5710 or info@mariettahistory.org
When: Friday, July 28th starting at 10:30am
Where: Marietta Museum of History, 1 Depot Street, Marietta, GA 30060
