THE TOY BOX TROT: NEW EVENT ADDED TO
THE 26TH ANNUAL MARIETTA STREETFEST

Marietta, GA (May 29, 2017) – The Toy Box Trot, a 1-mile fun run/walk is part of the 26th annual Marietta StreetFest held September 16, 2017 on the Marietta Square. The Saturday morning race welcomes children of all ages and abilities. All participants at the end of the race will select a toy of their choice from the Toy Box. The mission of Toy Box Trot is to encouraging healthy living and active play. This race is non-competitive and not timed but awards will be given to 1st place winners in selected age groups. Pre-race activities include information stations and fun warm up activities. The Life University Women’s Lacrosse team will serve as “Rays of Encouragement” and run the course with the participants.

REGISTRATION
Online registration is available at www.active.com (Toy Box Trot). Registration will close at 8:00 p.m. on Friday September 17, 2017. Day of registration is available via cash and check only. Toys are limited and will not be guaranteed after September 4.

Glover Park on the Historic Marietta Square.

Race activities take place on Roswell St between East Park Square and Waddell St.
FEE
$15.00 race registration (prior to 9/1/2017), $20.00 (after 9/2/17). Children under 2 are free – no toy. The race is free to watch. Proceeds will benefit the Marietta Museum of History.
PARKING
Free parking is available in the decks located at Waddell and Lawrence streets within walking distance of the festival.
THE FESTIVAL
The 26th annual Marietta StreetFest, focuses on the family with many free activities including arts & crafts booths, the Hubcaps and History Classic Show, a kid-friendly activity zone and children’s live entertainment, and the Marietta Grassroots Music Festival. Each year, the festival draws more than 20,000 people to the Marietta Square, amid a variety of local shops, dining options, and historic sites.
WHO
Established in 1992, the Marietta StreetFest is an annual fundraiser for the Marietta Museum of History. Located just west of the square in the historic Kennesaw House, the Marietta Museum of History houses the largest collection of artifacts relating to Marietta and Cobb County’s history.
