MARIETTA – Marietta Power and Water is pleased to join over 2,000 community-owned, not-for-profit electric utilities, and many more municipal water and sewer systems, in recognizing October 1-7, 2017 as the annual public power and clean water appreciation week.
“Public Power Week celebrates the safe, reliable, and affordable electricity we have provided our community for 111 years now,” said Ron Mull, General Manager, Marietta Power & Water. “Public power puts the people it serves first, returning profits back to citizens, and this week gives us the chance to emphasize the advantages of locally-owned and distributed power to our customers.”
Clean water week is a time to reflect on the importance of protecting our water resources. For more than 110 years, Marietta Water has delivered safe and clean water as well as prompt and courteous service. By protecting our water resources from pollution and properly maintaining our infrastructure to prevent and repair deficiencies, we can protect our city from the problems that many other communities currently face.
Marietta Power and Water’s almost 200 employees serve more than 45,000 industrial, commercial and residential power and water customers. Please join MPW in these activities to honor employees during the week:
