Marietta Non-Profit Inspires Dancers and Audiences with Community Support
Now in its 61st season, GMDT is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, hence, it relies on sponsorships and donations from the Marietta and metro Atlanta communities to operate. Support from patrons directly benefits GMDT, where approximately 150 local dancers from age seven to eighteen train year-round at Georgia Dance Conservatory right on the Historic Marietta Square to produce and perform three enchanting story ballets each year.
The mission of GMDT is to educate, cultivate, and inspire young dancers to become the next generation of artists and leaders through rigorous dance training and performance opportunities in a challenging and professional environment. GMDT strives to be a positive contributor to the community via diverse performances and engaging experiences that celebrate life through the power of the arts.
GMDT’s 61st season of dance is dedicated to our founder, Ruth Mitchell. We proudly carry on the legacy of this Atlanta dance pioneer and the dance company she founded in 1956.
Gratitude for 61st Season of Dance
GMDT thanks its 2017/18 season sponsors for their generous support:
