[ARCHIVED] WHAT YOU DO MATTERS

What You Do MAtters

People often ask us what they can do to prevent a tragic event like _______ (fill in the blank with the latest tragedy).  While no one can completely PREVENT a tragedy from occurring, your Marietta Police Department DOES believe that educating the community can and will greatly change the outcome of a tragic situation.

If you found yourself in an active shooting event, would you know what actions to take to increase your safety/survival?  CRASE is a program designed by Texas State University with funding from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, U.S. Department of Justice.  The methods you are taught are proven to reduce the number of fatalities in an active shooting event.

To be fair, we used to stop here.  But what happens when an active shooting events leaves people lying on the ground with gun shot wounds?  Would YOU know what to do to STOP THE BLEEDing?
