MARIETTA - On Wednesday, April 11, 2018, Mayor Steve Tumlin and City Manager Bill Bruton recognized the graduates of the City's 12th Citizens Government Academy. During the free, five-week course, twenty-three graduates received a behind-the-scenes look at the organizational structure of Marietta's government enabling these residents and business owners to familiarize themselves with many of the City's departments.
Since the program began in 2000, over 350 people have graduated, many of whom have gone on to serve on various City boards and commissions.
As part of the program, residents toured the City's facilities, heard presentations from Marietta's Department Heads, staff, line workers, and elected officials, and received a first-hand look at the City's daily activities.
The City would like to congratulate and thank the graduates listed below for their hard work and dedication to complete the strenuous five week course.
