LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN
Across the World, Law Enforcement Agencies raise awareness and show support for the Special Olympics. One of the ways Agencies raise awareness is to participate in a Torch Run symbolizing the opening of their area's Special Olympic Games. The Marietta Police Department is proud to participate in the Torch Run again this year. We will receive the torch at the Kennestone Mountain visitor’s center on Wednesday, May 16th and begin the Torch Run at 9:30 AM.
The Torch Run is open to members of the community and there is no cost to participate. Athletes and Officers will take turns carrying the torch from Kennesaw Mountain to the Marietta Square.
Please join us in Glover Park on the Historic Marietta Square Wednesday May 16th at approximately 10:30 AM. Special Olympics shirts will be available for purchase ($15) with all proceeds going directly to the Special Olympics Summer Games.
