The Marietta Police Department (MPD) is dedicated to protecting its citizens in every way possible. While our primary focus is on finding ways to fight and prevent crime, we are also dedicated to finding ways that will educate and protect our youth. To that end, MPD is involved in protecting children through a program called Radkids.
Radkids is a safety education program that emphasizes personal empowerment. The ten-hour course designed for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years old. Because the training is geared differently within those age ranges, we offer (2) different training sessions multiple times each year. Topics covered include: how to prevent bullying, and how to stay safe while on the internet, at home, at school, in a vehicle, and outdoors. In addition to these issues, we will discuss the many tricks used by child predators and the physical resistance strategies that kids can use to thwart these possible child abduction attempts. MPD currently has five trained Radkids instructors dedicated to teaching your children the most effective safety tips.
Registration is now open for a July class geared toward the 5 to 7 year-old age range. The cost for this class is $10. Please sign up your own children and share this information with other parents. Space is limited so reserve your spot today. The July schedule is as follows:
July 23- July 27, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Classes will be held in the gym at West Side Elementary (344 Polk St. Marietta GA)
