Join the William Root House Museum & Garden for a special event on Saturday, July 7th from 10am-4pm commemorating the Union occupation of Marietta in July 1864. See the Root House after the family fled from Marietta, leaving their home to the advancing Union Army. During this special event, meet with Union soldiers as they take over the house, constructing a headquarters and attempting to recruit new soldiers.
This program is included with the cost of regular museum admission and is free for Cobb Landmarks members. Special thanks to the Sons of Union Veterans and the 30th Ohio Vol. Inf. Regiment for their support of this program.
