MARIETTA – The Georgia Symphony Orchestra enthusiastically announces a full program celebrating home, heritage, and humanity under the artistic leadership of GSO Music Director Timothy Verville. Currently in his fourth year with the GSO, Dr. Verville continues to engage and inspire audiences with creative, high quality, community-centered programming. Music Director Timothy Verville is presented by the Robert F. Hagan Family Foundation.
The 2019-2020 season will include three Classics concerts, two GSO Jazz performances, four Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra (GYSO) concert series, two Holiday Pops performances, and the fifth annual Sensory Friendly concert. Details are available at georgiasymphony.org.
The Georgia Symphony Orchestra is in residence at the Marietta Performing Arts Center. GSO Jazz concerts are performed at the Earl Smith Strand Theater. 2019-2020 is the organization’s 69th season of performing live orchestral music.

The Georgia Symphony's annual Sensory Friendly Concert returns to present great music in a sensory friendly environment. With limited seating and carefully crafted (but not watered down) selections of music, this performance is great for those that require a space free of the standard confines of a classical performance. The GSO is pleased to welcome Ecuadorian cellist Francisco Vila as guest artist for this performance.

GSO Brahms Requiem - May 9, 2020

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII in Europe, the Georgia Symphony presents A German Requiem by Johannes Brahms. This colossal work in seven movements is scored for orchestra, chorus, and soloists. Joining the Georgia Symphony for this special performance is Russian guest conductor Anton Shaburov.
