MARIETTA. – After receiving rave reviews in their 2018 collaboration, GSO Jazz will team once again with the 80+ voices of the GSO Chorus for a stellar evening of jazz favorites. The performance will take place at the fabulous Strand Theatre on the Marietta Square on February 8th. This toe-tapping night of Jazz will feature such favorites as Caravan, Bluesette, and Georgia on my Mind.
The February 8th performance will present the GSO Jazz combo band, which is known for playing jazz standards, swing, and contemporary compositions. Bandleader and saxophonist Sam Skelton has recorded with Elton John, Matchbox 20, Train, and The Ohio Players, among others.
Joining GSO Jazz for the evening will be the GSO Chorus, led by Bryan Black. Comprised of accomplished vocalists from the greater metropolitan area, the GSO Chorus is the dedicated chorus of the Georgia Symphony Orchestra, performing choral/orchestral works, pops, and independent choral concerts. GSO Jazz and GSO Chorus are part of the Georgia Symphony Orchestra organization.
