MARIETTA – The Marietta community will again be “dancing in the street” during the Glover Park Concert Series. The series features local and regional acts on the last Friday night, April through September. The concerts are free but if you are looking for a “front-row seat,” a limited number of tables can be reserved for a fee. Table reservations are taken on a first come basis (and will sell out quickly) on the first working day of each month beginning at 8:00 a.m. Bring a picnic dinner (beer & wine is permitted) or dine in one of the many fine restaurants located on the square.

The concert lineup:

April 24    Grapevine          Beach / Oldies          (Postponed due to COVID-19)

May 29    Fly By Radio          Pop / Rock

June 26   Next Level Band      Motown / R&B

July 31    Yacht Rock Schooner      Smooth 70’s

August 28    Super Deluxe          Variety Party band

September 25    The Big Chicken Beatles Band      Beatles Tribute band

Blankets and lawn chairs may be set up in the park and tables are permitted in the street after 5:30 p.m. No personal tables, plastic ground covering or ropes, tape, stakes, etc. used to section off areas are permitted inside the park as they will be removed.

Join your fellow concert guest and participate in the “Table Decorating and Spirted Award Contest” sponsored by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage.  Judging will take place prior to each concert from 7:15 - 7:50 p.m. and the winner will announced during the opening remarks.  Winners will receive a prize basket which includes passes to the Studio Move Grill-Marietta, Zaxby’s goodies and much more.   The judges will circulate the area looking for groups with outstanding display for the best design, unique style, food/drink, most spirited, creative costumes, ambiance and theme of the evening entertainment.  “We changed the name of the contest so more groups could get involved through celebrations like graduations, birthdays, holiday themes celebration or a throwback to the band’s theme, the sky is the limit”, says Sherry Noles, Branch Manager, Coldwell Banker, Marietta/West. There is no cost to participate and registration is not necessary.

Ted Azriel is the featured artist for the 2020 Glover Park Concert Series poster and lives in Marietta with his family. After retiring as a graphic designer in 2016, he devoted his energy and passion for fine art and Digital Art. He studied at Pratt Graphic Art Center and Art Students League in New York, and Ecole Des Beaux Art in Montreal, Canada.  Ted believes, “The world is his palette, he creates in many styles using traditional and digital mixed media and encompasses many venues and comes from my imagination, life experiences and interaction with people and the world at large”.  His art is part of a permanent display in the 500 year old Fortezza in Montepulciano, Italy and can be found locally at North Park Gallery on the Marietta Square.
