MARIETTA - Marietta Police Department Majors Jake King and Brian Marshall will be hosting a free gun safety seminar Tuesday night, March 31st. The seminar will start at 6:30 PM inside City Council Chambers at Marietta City Hall. The seminar will include (but not be limited to) the following topics:
• Firearm/Weapon Safety
• Firearm/Weapon Storage
• Firearm/Weapon Law
• Recommended Home Defense Weapons
• Civilian Model Stun Guns
• Carry/Use of Pepper Spray
Major King is the current MPD Specialized Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) commander and has been in law enforcement for over twenty-one years. Major Marshall is the current MPD Range Master and has been in law enforcement for over twenty-three years. Working together, Majors King and Marshall have taught numerous classes with participants numbering in the tens of thousands on topics including gun safety and response to active shooter events.
This seminar is lecture based only and citizens are not required to bring anything. Information packets will be provided to attendees. The seminar is open to all ages and is approximately two hours in length.
Whether you are a gun owner or not, this free seminar will be worth your time! Seating is limited and early registration is recommended.
*Please do not bring any firearms or weapons to the seminar.
