MARIETTA – The City of Marietta’s Census response rate is lagging behind other cities in Cobb County, thus putting our community at risk for not receiving our fair share of federal funds to ensure our city maximizes the benefits of the Census including equal representation for all persons.

Currently only 62% of our population has been counted. Our community deserves to be fully counted and we can only do that with your help.

Marietta benefits from federal, state, and local government dollars which are contingent on our population count from the Census. These funds support our community’s general local government services like public safety, parks and recreation and more. Each person who fills out their Census form brings in $3,500 directly to the City.

Accurate Census data directly impacts families, children, and senior citizens. A complete count will help people in our community receive benefits like Headstart early childhood education, school breakfast and lunch programs, Medicare, Medicaid and other healthcare assistance, and housing and food assistance.

Additionally, by ensuring an accurate count Marietta can secure much needed federal funds for infrastructure projects. Did you know that in Marietta, each year over $15.6 million in funding for roadways, housing and general operations is tied directly to the Census count?

Please visit the Census website and fill out the form!
