MARIETTA – Marietta’s Public Works Department is pleased to announce it has streamlined site development plans for compliance with regards to state laws on soil erosion via an agreement the City has signed with the Cobb County Soil and Water Conservation District.
This Memorandum of Agreement allows the City to now review site development plans for compliance with the state laws on soil erosion. This will cut the plan review and permitting time down significantly, by an average of four to six weeks, for our developers and contractors.
The Public Works Department worked diligently to adopt an erosion and sedimentation control ordinance which meets the standards and requirements of the state law, thereby allowing for City staff to ensure each site development plan passes a thorough plan review and site inspection.
We are pleased to be able to offer this level of detailed customer service to our citizens and customers to help not only ensure the safety of developments but also streamline the process. Public Works looks forward to working with everyone on this new stage in the development process.
