**UPDATE - Saturday, June 12th is still a go, but Saturday, June 19th will be rescheduled after July 4th due to short supplies.
MARIETTA - The Kiwanis Club of Marietta is seeking volunteers on Saturday, June 12th and Saturday, June 19th to help prepare flags for the 9/11 Field of Flags Ceremony. Flag assembly will be held at the Marietta High School cafeteria both Saturdays from 9am - 4pm.
Every 5 years, the Kiwanis Club of Marietta organizes the 9-11 Field of Flags at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park to remember and commemorate the lives lost on September 11, 2001. The last time this event took place was 2016. So now 5 years later, and the 20th anniversary of that fateful day, the Kiwanis Club of Marietta (GA) needs your help assembling the 2,987 flags. On Saturday, June 12th and Saturday, June 19th the club will be at the Marietta High School's cafeteria from 9am until 4pm assembling the flags.
Please volunteer if you have the time. The flags will be installed at the Park on September 4, 2021 and be displayed through September 18th in memory of the lives we lost on 9/11.
