MARIETTA – The City of Marietta and the owners of Atlanta Hard Cider held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of their new site located at 1010 Roswell Street, Marietta, GA on Thursday, October 21, 2021.

This formerly city-owned property was actively marketed by Marietta as a redevelopment opportunity. The City has been improving the Roswell Street Corridor for years with new streetscape beautification projects and building design standards in accordance with the City’s Vision Statement. The new Atlanta Hard Cider site represents another success in the renaissance of Roswell Street and will be a tourist and local visitor draw into the heart of our community.

The Roswell Street Corridor project was an approved 2016 SPLOST streetscape project. The area for the project included Roswell Street from Victory Drive to Dodd Street. It consisted of new 11-foot travel lanes, protected left turn lanes, intersection improvements, turn signals, 14-foot planted medians, 6-foot sidewalk upgrades, decorative street lighting, and landscaping. It was a $4.5 million dollar project that was started in 2018 and completed in 2019.

The City sold the property to the owners of Atlanta Hard Cider in April 2019 for $547,000. The ribbon cutting event signified the completion of Phase 1 of their project which is a 6,000 square foot building housing both their cider manufacturing operation along with a tasting room. A Phase 2 development is planned to be constructed on 994 Roswell Street which would consist of an even larger facility.

Atlanta Hard Cider was named the top selling craft cider in Georgia this year. They plan to host a Grand Opening Family Friendly Event this weekend so that cider enthusiasts can taste their specialty craft cider and view their manufacturing operation. The City is excited to welcome this business into Marietta and looks forward to their success in the Roswell Street Renaissance District.
