Marietta, GA  – Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theatre (GMDT), housed in the studios of the Marietta Square’s own Georgia Dance Conservatory, is proud to announce its 2022/23 lineup of spectacular ballet classics for the new season.

Under the direction of Artistic Director Ashleigh Whitworth and Associate Artistic Director Gray Stoner, the pre-professional dancers of GMDT will grace the stage for three performances. In September, the highest level GMDT dancers will lead off with a student-choreographed, student-directed production, Imprint. Just after Thanksgiving, the full company will take the stage at the Jennie T. Anderson Theatre in Cobb County, kicking off the holiday season with the timeless favorite The Nutcracker. Finally, in the spring of 2023, the dancers will be flying high – quite literally – for a stunning production of Peter Pan.

The 2022/23 GMDT company is comprised of 125 students ranging in age from seven years-old to graduating high school seniors who train at Georgia Dance Conservatory (GDC) on the Marietta Square. About the productions:

GMDT’s Imprint showcases the point of view of the next generation, a perspective that is only enhanced as the sophomores, juniors and seniors organize, direct, produce, choreograph, market, manage wardrobe, as well as dance in this original production. Voices of student and professional choreographers will shine through different styles of dance including, jazz, ballet, and contemporary.  Dancing for all to see, this next generation of artists are making their mark, their Imprint.
