MARIETTA - Established in the 1830s, the Marietta City Cemetery has a host of tales to tell, and a guided walking tour is the best way to experience them. Each tour has a different theme that will explore stories of Marietta’s constant residents.
The Marietta History Center’s Collections Manager, Christa McCay, is offering one walking tour in the Spring at the City Cemetery on Saturday, May 20th, at 1:30pm. This season’s tour will focus on Cemetery Symbolism. Come and get an up-close view and hear about the details of many hand-crafted tombstones.
These are a rain or shine events. The tours are conducted over gravel and uneven pathways, so please plan accordingly. The tour begins at the white house located at the center of Cemetery.
Tickets can be purchased through the Museum’s online store, which can be found on our website www.MariettaHistory.org. You can also find the link on our Facebook page.
