MARIETTA, GA – Marietta Power is pleased to announce that there is no planned electric rate increase for 2026, allowing residential and business customers to continue benefitting from low and competitive electrical rates. This decision, which provides stable rates for the coming year to Marietta Power customers, is particularly notable as many other electrical providers across the state are implementing rate increases.

For 12 of the last 13 years, Marietta Power has not implemented a rate increase while continuing to deliver reliable, high-quality service to its customers. This practice of not regularly raising rates has resulted in Marietta Power’s current ranking of 2nd lowest among all providers in the State of Georgia Public Service Commission’s Residential Rate Survey for average home usage. This survey compares electric service providers across Georgia by evaluating costs based on total electric bill amounts for typical residential usage levels. This ranking demonstrates Marietta Power’s continued commitment to competitive rates and excellence as a municipal power provider.

“Our Board of Lights and Water remains committed to excellence in electrical deliverance and competitive rates and keeping rates stable another year reflects such,” said Mayor Steve Tumlin, Chairman of the Marietta Board of Lights and Water. “We have absorbed wholesale cost increases to hold rates steady for our customers, while continuing to provide reliable service. Marietta Power remains among the lowest-cost electric providers in the state without compromising quality.”
