MARIETTA – The City of Marietta is pleased to announce that Daniel Cummings has been named the City’s new Economic Development Division Manager effective immediately.
Mr. Cummings has been serving as Acting Economic Development Manager since the retirement of Beth Sessoms. Mr. Cummings previously served as the Planning and Development Specialist for Marietta within the Economic Development office. Prior to joining the City of Marietta, Mr. Cummings worked for the Middle Georgia Regional Commission headquartered in Macon serving as the Senior Government Services Specialist responsible for a staff which provided Economic Development, Job Creation, Planning and Community Development, Grant Writing and Management and land acquisition services to various communities in the eleven-county region.
Mr. Cummings graduated from Valdosta State University summa cum laude in 2009 and then received his Masters of Public Administration from the University of Georgia magna cum laude in 2011. He and his wife reside in Cobb County.
“Marietta has had incredible success over the past few years,” said Daniel Cummings. “I am excited to help continue that progress utilizing both new and existing development strategies.”
