Briefly: Marietta Tree Keepers will hold their Annual Spring Sip n’ Stroll on Friday, April 21st at 5:00pm. The location to begin the event is Marietta Square’s Glover Park, 50 North Park Square, Marietta, GA, 30064. Parking around the square or in the parking deck off Cherokee and Lawrence St. where the tour will begin.
Details: The event features a special casual tour with tree experts, identifying common opportunities and issues relating to trees. It’s free and open to the public ... and it’s BYOB. For this Sip n’ Stroll, we will stroll around the Marietta Square’s Glover Park and adjoining streets. Certified arborists and landscape architects will lead the tour of the neighborhood, pointing out the many treasures and challenges that exist among our valuable stock of trees. The experts will offer practical advice as to how we can extend the life of our mature trees and how we can plan for their eventual replacement. The experts will discuss overhead utilities, proper pruning, protecting root systems and selecting the right specimen for the right location.
Visitors are welcome to bring their own evening refreshments and MTK will provide water and light snacks. The event will only be cancelled if it is raining heavy or lightning. Location is Marietta Square’s Glover Park and we will meet at 50 North Park Square, Marietta, GA 30064. Parking around the square or in the parking deck off Cherokee and Lawrence St.
Members of the Marietta Tree Keepers have been promoting the value of trees to the community since it was founded in 2002. MTK has over 100 members and has planted over 5000 trees around the city. The 501(C)3 non-profit organization works closely with the City of Marietta to plant trees along public right-of-ways.
