MARIETTA – The City of Marietta is pleased to announce that Rusty Roth has been named the City’s new Director of Development Services effective immediately.
Mr. Roth previously served as the Planning & Zoning Manager in the Department of Development Services for the City of Marietta. Originally from Lafayette, Louisiana, Mr. Roth has worked for the City of Marietta for 19 years. He has over 30 years of professional planning experience working for several local and regional planning organizations in Louisiana, Florida, and Georgia.
Mr. Roth holds a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette). He is also a member of the American Planning Association and holds a professional certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners.
“I’m proud to be able to continue serving the City of Marietta in a new capacity, and I am grateful for the friendship and support of my co-workers who make this such a great place to work,” said Mr. Roth.
Rusty and his wife, Lori, have two children: Daniel, a freshman at the University of Alabama, and Nicholas, a junior at Pope High School.
