1.
Can I have bid opening schedules and documents faxed to me?
Because of the volume of requests we can not fax bid opening lists or the bid documents. However, you can download the bid opening list and the bid documents from our website. Bid documents may be picked up in the Purchasing Division at City Hall. For more information, please visit the

2.
Do I have to pay for bid documents?
Generally there is no charge for plans and specifications. However, there may be a plan deposit (typically $50 to $100) required for some documents. In that case, you must provide us with a cashier's check, certified check or money order. Cash and company checks are unacceptable. If you repeatedly bid on projects that require a plan deposit, you may leave a check on file.
For certain contracts, you may be required to leave a bid deposit. This is typically five to 10 percent of the estimated value of the contract.
For more information, please visit the
Proposals and Bids page
.
3.
What if I have a question while I am filling out my bid documents?
The name and telephone number of the Purchasing representative is indicated on the cover sheet of each specification. They may be contacted for assistance. For more information, please call the Purchasing Division at 770-794-5699.
4.
What if you change the bid package after I've already picked it up?
When you pick up a bid package, you will be asked to leave a business card. The reason for this is so we can get in touch with you if there is a change. The addendum will be mailed to you at the address on your business card. For more information, please call the Purchasing Division at 770-794-5699.
5.
What is a bid specification?
A specification is a formal statement of the city's needs. It will describe in great detail what goods and/or services are required, and will explain the procedures that must be followed to respond to a specification or RFP/RFQ Request for Proposal/Request for Qualifications (RFP/RFQ). For more information, please call the Purchasing Division at 770-794-5699.
