Marietta History Center Hosts Touchstones to the Past: City Cemetery Walking Tour

MARIETTA - Established in the 1830s, the Marietta City Cemetery has a host of tales to tell, and a guided walking tour is the best way to experience them. Each tour has a different theme that will explore stories of Marietta’s constant residents. 

The Marietta History Center’s Collections Manager, Christa McCay, is offering two walking tours in this Fall at the City Cemetery on Saturday, October 28th & November 4th, at 10:30am. This season’s tours will focus on previously unseen images of the cemetery and veterans’ stories. 

These are a rain or shine events. The tours are conducted over gravel and uneven pathways, so please plan accordingly. Refunds will only be given in the MHC cancels the tour.  Tour times are subject to change based on the weather.

Time: 10:30am to 12pm (noon)

Where: Marietta City Cemetery, 420 West Atlanta Street, Marietta, GA 30064

Cost: $15 per ticket. Free for MHC Members (please call or email cmccay@mariettaga.gov to reserve your space)

Capacity: Tours are limited to 25 people each.
