UPDATE: December 5, 2024 - CSX contractors have notified the City of Marietta that the planned railroad crossing maintenance in the downtown area has been postponed to a future date, which has yet to be determined. However, the work scheduled for East Dixie Avenue on December 5th will proceed as planned.

MARIETTA, GA - CSX Transportation (CSX) has notified the City of Marietta of their upcoming railroad crossing maintenance which will temporarily close crossings through the city. According to CSX contractors, the work is tentatively scheduled for December 5th through December 6th and is expected to take 24-48 hours to complete at each location. The affected crossings include:
- East Dixie Avenue – 12/5/24
- Waverly Way – 12/5/24
- Whitlock Avenue - 12/5/24
- Mill Street – 12/5/24
- Polk Street – 12/5/24
- Kennesaw Avenue – 12/5/24
- Marble Mill Road – 12/6/24
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and consider taking alternate routes to avoid the closures.
