MARIETTA, GA - The City of Marietta will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of a disc golf course and facility improvements at Wildwood Park. The event will take place on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 4:00 PM at 1050 Barclay Circle, Marietta, GA 30060.
This project, led by the City’s Parks, Recreation, and Facilities Department, enhances outdoor recreational opportunities for both residents and visitors through the development of the park’s disc golf course, an 18-basket layout designed to engage players of all skill levels. Other park improvements include parking lot upgrades, the addition of a public restroom, and enhancements to the existing dog park such as fence replacements, new benches, and a drinking fountain.
Wildwood Park spans nearly 29 acres and has received several Land and Water Conservation Fund grants through the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The most recent grant, totaling $500,000, supplemented $1.1 million of 2009 Parks Bond Funds for the development of the disc golf course and other park improvements. These enhancements advance the City’s vision of maintaining high-quality parks, both active and passive, while continuously adapting to the future needs and wants of the community.
