MARIETTA, GA - The Marietta History Center will host an Evening with History on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., featuring authors Catherine A. Moore and Megan Hauser. The program will explore American political illustration and cartoons from the Revolutionary War to the present, highlighting iconic images such as Join, or Die, Civil War–era cartoons by Thomas Nast, and 20th-century campaign and protest posters.

This program is part of the Marietta History Center’s ongoing celebration of America’s 250th anniversary (America250), connecting local and national stories through history, art, and civic dialogue.

Moore, an Associate Professor of Art at Georgia Gwinnett College, and Hauser, a political science lecturer at Kennesaw State University, are co-authors of Political Illustration: The Visual Language of Propaganda, Censorship, and Dissent. Copies of the book will be available for purchase in the Museum Store.
