July is Parks and Recreation Month Celebration

Each year, people celebrate Parks and Recreation Month in July! The City of Marietta is happy to honor the incredible work our Parks, Recreation, and Facilities department does to build a strong, resilient, diverse, and vibrant Marietta community through parks, programs, and events. The National Recreation and Parks Association promotes this month annually with a different theme relating to the positive impact made by parks professionals. This year the theme is...  

"Build Together, Play Together"


Schedule of Events: 

  • July 4th at the 4th of July Celebration stop by the Parks and Recreation tent to for fun giveaways and activities celebrating our amazing staff and community. 
  • July 25 at the Glover Park Concert Series rock out with us as we enjoy another amazing concert on the Square featuring The Stranger . 
  • Surprise gift drops at our local parks throughout the month of July!

NRPA July is Parks and Recreation Month

Parks Professionals Day is Friday, July 18th!!

"As part of Park and Recreation Month, NRPA is celebrating Park and Recreation Professionals Day on Friday, July 18. This is a day to celebrate all the dedicated professionals who build strong, vibrant and resilient communities through the power of parks and recreation."

On Friday, July 18, help us celebrate our Parks, Recreation, and Facilities staff! Say thank you, take a selfie with, or waive as you pass by our many wonderful parks professionals! And keep an eye on our social medias to see how we are honoring our staff on this day!
