The fire service has evolved over the years to encompass a growing number of life-threatening events. These sometimes complex and diverse emergency situations demand specialized training, apparatus, and equipment. The Marietta Fire Department takes an all-hazards approach in serving its citizens and is committed to providing a specialized response in the following areas:

Advanced Vehicle Extrication

Event Response Team
The Event Response Team members attend special events to assist those in need who are hard to reach by vehicle.

Confined Space Rescue
A confined space is any enclosed space with limited egress and may have internal conditions that are immediately dangerous to life and health.

Hazardous Materials
A hazardous material is any item or agent--biological, chemical, physical--that has the potential to cause harm to humans, animals, or the environment either by or through interaction with other factors.

Honor Guard
The goal of the Honor Guard is to add formality in ceremonies and funerals for public safety personnel and to assist neighboring jurisdictions with honor guard services.

TEMS / SWAT Medic Team
The purpose of Marietta's SWAT Medic Program is to provide emergency care to officers, bystanders, and suspects without having to wait on a unit staged at a distant location.
